Kalamandlam Sruthi
Kalamandalam Sruthi is a highly skilled, talented and accomplished dancer, choreographer and teacher, who performs with sheer beauty, perfection and grace. Sruthi began learning Bharatanatyam from the tender age of five. Subsequently, she continued learning diverse aspects of the classical dance from a number of eminent Gurus and institutions. She has also learned Mohiniyattam and Kuchipodi making her versatile with the South Indian dance forms. She received the National Scholarship in Bharatanatyam and various other accolades. She is a postgraduate in Fine Arts in Bharatanatyam and has given performances at various National and Temple festivals across the India and the UK.
In her dance presentations and performances of poems and contemporary dramas, Sruthi gracefully weaves emotions of love, happiness, joy, beauty, values, aspirations and myth. She has continuously attempted to reach out to new and especially young audiences to spread her passion and enthusiasm for dance as a dance teacher/guru.
Sruthi has won Gold Medals in the Bharathi Dasan University Dance Competition for two consecutive years, received a National scholarship award in Bharathanatyam and won prizes at various school level competitions.
In addition, Sruthi gained a considerable amount of experience working outside India. She worked as a dance teacher at the Sopaanam School of Dance and Music, Dubai, UAE. Prior to this, she worked as a dance teacher in Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University, Vallathol Nagar, Thrissur. Sruthi started her career as a dance teacher at Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts, Thiruchirappali.
Currently, Sruthi is the Mohiniyattam tutor at MAUK and also runs her own dance school in Cardiff.
